Sex Abuser in ARBCA Church Led by Larry Vincent Sentenced to 9-Years

A sex abuser in Heritage Baptist Church in Mansfield, TX has been sentence to nine-years.  This is a prominent church in the Association of Reformed Baptist Churches in America.  His abuse was covered up by the pastors.

Here are a few comments. 

This is good news.  Larry Vincent was the senior pastor of Heritage Baptist Church and a top leader in the Association of Reformed Baptist Churches of America (ARBCA).  He covered up the sex crimes committed by Benjamin Cole and then lied about it to his church.  So did his associates Jarrett Downs and Steve Garrick. 

Vincent also helped cover up the sex crimes committed by “pastor” Tom Chantry at Miller Valley Baptist Church in Prescott, AZ. Chantry was tried, found guilty, and sentenced.

The top leaders in ARBCA including Tedd Tripp also covered up Chantry’s crimes.  So did Walter Chantry, his well-known father who was a Reformed Baptist leader, author, and editor for Banner of Truth magazine.
I wrote about the corruption in ARBCA for three years (Dec. 2016-Oct. 2019) and documented evidence in hundreds of pages. The whole time I was labeled a slanderer.  That is until Chantry was convicted in May 2019.

Until then the corrupt leaders in ARBCA (e.g., Earl Blackburn, David Dykstra, Steve Martin, Tom Lyons, Don Lindblad, John Giarrizzo, Fred Malone, Al Huber) adamantly decreed Chantry was persecuted like Jesus, tested like Job, and betrayed like Joseph.  I kid you not!  It was hideous.  Suddenly, they were silent.

Thankfully many of those corrupt leaders in ARBCA “retired” and the vast majority of churches left the association. Only 13 remain. Effectively, ARBCA is no more. God brought it down. No pastor who remains in ARBCA should be trusted.

Heritage Baptist Church is one of the churches that remain. Jarrett Downs has replaced Larry Vincent as the sr. pastor. Both of these men covered up the crimes committed against Amanda Hodson and Marybeth Arnold.

I commend Amanda and Marybeth for speaking out and helping with the investigation. They are the ones who have been persecuted, tested, and betrayed.  They've endured great hardship over the years but persevered. That perseverance has resulted in a successful prosecution and a nine-year sentence for their abuser.

They have also exposed the corrupt pastors at Heritage Baptist Church in Mansfield, TX. No one should remain in that church or in ARBCA.
